A Custom-Built 23′ Tremblay Flats Boat
Captain Toney’s boat is purpose-built for the way he fishes. The 23-foot Tremblay is a custom flats boat with a wide, stable hull and a spacious deck that gives anglers plenty of room to cast, fight fish, and move around comfortably. It accommodates up to four anglers.
The Tremblay was designed specifically for shallow water work. Its minimal draft allows Captain Toney to pole across grass flats, navigate skinny backcountry creeks, and access areas that deeper-hulled boats simply cannot reach. This is critical on the Nature Coast, where some of the best redfish, seatrout, and snook habitat sits in water barely deep enough to float a boat.

Built for the Nature Coast
The boat features a built-in cooler to keep your drinks cold and your catch fresh, a dedicated fish box, and dry storage to protect your personal gear from spray and rain. A poling platform gives Captain Toney the elevated vantage point he needs to spot fish on the flats, and the boat is rigged for both conventional and fly fishing.
Power comes from a Mercury Optimax outboard, which delivers reliable, fuel-efficient performance and gets anglers to the fishing grounds quickly and safely. Whether the plan calls for running offshore to nearshore rock piles for grouper or idling up a quiet tidal creek for snook, the Tremblay and Mercury combination handles it all.
The Right Tool for the Job
The shallow, grass-bottomed flats around Homosassa demand a specific kind of boat. A deep-V offshore hull won’t get into the places where the fish live. A kayak can’t cover enough water or handle the open runs between fishing spots. Captain Toney’s Tremblay sits right in the sweet spot: shallow enough to pole the skinniest flats, stable enough to fish comfortably in a chop, and fast enough to make the most of your time on the water.
